It's always just so enjoyable when you wake up in the morning and one eye won't pop open because of "Night Frosting." Ick. So I really hadn't planed on writing anything.
HOWEVER, I happened to take a quick look at Donald Miller's blog. So now I sit here typing
Out in Portland, OR, Miller has been working with a ministry called "The Mentoring Project." The goal of this project is to set up ministry franchises with local churches around the country to provide Mentors for boys with absentee fathers. Miller has a heart for this since his own father ditched out on his family when he was just a kid.
For those of you who don't know, Donald Miller is a writer of some of my favorite books. Blue like Jazz had me laughing so hard, and now it is being turned into a movie. I have also read Searching for God knows What, and have A Million miles in a Thousand Years sitting on my table.
I won't go into much detail about this project, because you can click on the link to Miller's blog and read all about it yourself. If you wouldn't mind though, assuming you DO click on the link, please go and do the whole voting thing. (It's all there and costs you nothing.) It's a fairly easy way to help a non-profit get some money from a large contributer.
P.S. Check out those books, too.
